Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Albert Street railway station (site), Cork
Opened in 1873 as the city terminus of the Cork, Blackrock and Passage Railway, this station replaced the Victoria Road terminus which had sufficed since 1850. In 1902, the whole 7 mile line was converted to 3' narrow gauge and extended 9½ miles from Passage West to Crosshaven. In 1932, this station and the whole line was closed.

View north east at the less-than-imposing building. It is not known if the shed behind it is the original train shed.

Not to be confused with Albert Quay station of the Cork Bandon and South Coast Railway, situated one block further west.
