It's been a while since I last saw an Alaska Airlines 737-700, the long-distance champ of the fleet. This one is arriving as Alaska 211 from Mazatlan, and will immediately be followed by another Alaska Airlines flight from Mexico, 259 from Puerto Vallarta. Los Angeles serves as Alaska Airlines' Mexican gateway, and with Alaska's relocation to Terminal 6, which has immigration and customs facilities that had been built originally for the new United Airlines hub in 1997, Alaska Airlines no longer needs to send its Mexican arrivals to Bradley International Terminal. This particular aircraft still has the eyebrow windows at the cockpit; originally introduced on Boeing 707s to enable celestial navigation, the eyebrow windows are more of an annoyance to modern-day pilots, and in recent years, new-build 737s no longer come with eyebrow windows, and existing 737s tend to get them plugged during a heavy check.
