Summary[edit]

Description

The Concorde was the only supersonic commercial airliner to see significant revenue service.

Out of the twenty built, Air France operated seven. One of them was scrapped for spare parts, and another was lost in the 2000 crash at De Gaulle Airport, leaving five at the time of retirement in 2003. Per a prior arrangement between France and the Smithsonian, this particular example joined the Smithsonian collection at Udvar-Hazy Center upon retirement.

The other thirteen Concordes were split between British Airways (seven) and prototypes (six). All of them, and all of the five surviving Air France Concordes, are preserved today.
