(Recto, mount) lower center, printed adhered label: "23. AGRA.- The principal Gateway of the Taj Mahal./ The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jehan as the tomb of his favourite wife, Moomtaza Mahal, and he is buried in it by her side./ The outer courtyard is surrounded by arcades and pierced by four gateways, of which that in the plate, leading into the great/ enclosure, is the principal. The material is red sandstone, relieved by white marble."
