English: Aggregates at Acton goods yard. View north-west from Acton Mainline railway bridge, with houses of Lowfield Road beyond the goods yard. The website of Foster Yeoman http://www.foster-yeoman.co.uk/index.html told us "Yeoman Aggregates is responsible for the sale and distribution of drystone from rail depots in the South East. The head office is based in Acton, West London, with depots in Acton, Dagenham, Grays, Gt Yarmouth, Harlow and Harwich." and "All of these depots are supplied with materials from the Mendip Hills in Somerset by Mendip Rail, lessening the environmental impact of lorries on the road hauling aggregates into the South East." |
