Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Afon Marchlyn-bach at Penbont Every summer Deiniolen lads used to dam this river to make a make-do swimming pool and every summer we used to catch something nasty, like 'Clwy Melyn' (Yellow Jaundice), after being in the water. Then, the pool being just below the vicarage, there was the additional hazard of a tongue-lashing from the vicar's wife, the village's former school mistress, well versed in the art of giving a telling-off and the advantage of knowing us all by name. Happy days! Today, kids go to swim at the Leisure Centre in Caernarfon 7 miles away.
