Summary[edit]

Description

c/n 001. The Hummingbird was a lightweight all-composite observation aircraft designed to replace some helicopter roles. It had a short take-off and landing run and could easily be dismantled for ground transport. The South African Council for Industrial Research (CSIR) founded the project under the 'Aerotek' name. The idea didn't catch on and only one was built. After years of storage it has now been saved and is on display at the South African Air Force Museum, Swartkop AFB, Pretoria, South Africa.
