This photo represents the final product in the evolution of the harbours of the Britannia Yacht Club.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: This photo illustrates how the main harbour and inner harbour of the Britannia Yacht Club were created by amalgamating three islands over a period of years from 1950 to 1969. This was accomplished by damming the Metropolitan Electric canal, annexing two small islands (Mauve Cove and Crimson Cove) that were remnants of the failed hydroelectric canal plus Britannia Island just north of the canal. The islands were joined together with an enormous amount of fill/concrete. The inner harbour is one of the best-sheltered yacht harbours in North America. Colour adjusted, spots removed, clipped to the aspect ratio, reduced size, labelled, final reduced size.
