  • Dansk: - 4. nov. 1641 kom en hollandsk flåde kommanderet af Aert Gysels til St. Vincent for at hjælpe Portugal, der havde erklæret sig uafhængig af Spanien. Her mødte den en langt stærkere spansk flåde. Slaget var uafgjort, og hele ekspiditionen unyttig. - Også Den Hollandske landgang i Luanda (Angola), efter sejren over den Spansk-Portugisiske forsvarsflåde i 1641 er blevet foreslået som motiv.
