English: The Aberrant Bush Warbler, a member of the Cettiidae family, was previously classified within the "Old World warbler" group. Its habitat spans central and southern China, as well as the northern regions of Myanmar and Vietnam. This diminutive and timid warbler displays dull brown plumage with a paler belly and subtle brow stripe, making it challenging to spot amidst dense foliage. Recognizable by its sweet song, characterized by introductory notes followed by two long whistles, distinguishing it from other similar species requires a keen eye due to subtle differences. While visually similar to the Yellowish-bellied and Brownish-flanked Bush Warblers, the Aberrant Bush Warbler exhibits greener tones on its back among Himalayan populations. Breeding in shrubby edges, bamboo stands, and open bushy areas in montane and hilly terrain, this species tends to inhabit higher altitudes compared to its counterparts. This particular bird was photographed in Senchal, West Bengal, India.
