Description
Deutsch: Ausgabe der Aachener Nachrichten vom 8. Mai 1945 im neuen Aachener Stadtmuseum „Centre Charlemagne”. Als erstes freies Blatt - ohne Nazi-Propaganda - konnten die Aachener Nachrichten die bedingungslose Kapitulation der Wehrmacht am 8. Mai 1945 vermelden. Sie war damit eine von zwei Zeitungen Deutschlands die an diesem Tag davon berichteten. Die andere Zeitung war die Flensburger Nachrichten aus Flensburg, wo sich die letzte Reichsregierung befand.
English: Edition of the Aachener Nachrichten of May 8, 1945 in the new Aachen City Museum "Centre Charlemagne". The Aachener Nachrichten was the first free paper - without Nazi propaganda - to report the unconditional surrender of the Wehrmacht on May 8, 1945. It was one of two newspapers in Germany that reported on that day. The other newspaper was the Flensburger Nachrichten from Flensburg, where the last Reich government was located.
