Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: A view from the 54 metre high Yorkshire Wheel, that was installed at the National Railway Museum in York. It was sited 53°57′35.81″N 1°5′44.42″W / 53.9599472°N 1.0956722°W next to and in line with the southern wall of the museum's Great Hall. Construction started in March 2006 and the wheel operated from 12 April 2006 until 2 November 2008, being dismantled shortly afterwards. This view is slightly to the west of north, over the roof of the Great Hall and the tracks of the East Coast Main Line as it leaves York station headed north. The river is the Ouse. Apologies for the cast in this series of images: they were taken through perspex on a rather murky day. |
