With O^as a center and the same radius, describe the flank curve,stopping at the root circle. Draw the flanks of the remain-ing teeth in the same way and then put in the fillets. Theremaining part of Fig. 1 can be easily drawn from thedimensions given. Fig. 2 is a conventional method of drawing cross-sectionsof gears. The hubs and rims are sectioned, but the teethand arms are not. This is similar to the wheel shown on theplate entitled Details. This method of sectioning makesthe views clearer and saves the time spent in sectioning.
