The intra-uretliral mirror (Fig. 22), illuminated by reflected light fromthe head mirror, will very clearly reveal the details of these lesions asthey are exposed by the speculmn; but the mere presence of an ulcerwith its truncated cone summit and its inflamed borders can be readilydetermined without the aid of the intra-urethral mirror, particularly ifit is not deeper than two inches. Treatment.—Only by resorting to the use of instruments whichwill expose these lesions to the eye can the treatment, as well as the diag-nosis, be made satisfactory.
