Summary[edit]

Description
English: A steam engine which was used to winch wagons up the incline from the opencast workings at Rhiw This was in the days when Rhiw sent its output by an aerial ropeway down to Hells Mouth. Later on, after a ship had partially demolished the jetty at Hells Mouth, Rhiw was linked to the Benallt Tramway. The main shaft of the complex can be seen on the right.
