e propagation and habits of this species I amsorry that I cannot refer to any authentic details. The following description is from Dcgland:—Themale has the top of the head black, with a longitu-dinal white line along the middle, which minglesbehind with a kind of half collar of the same colour;a large and long citron yellow band above each eye;upper parts of the body ferruginous brownish grey,darker in the middle of the feathers, which are russeton their borders; inferior parts grey white on theneck, with a kind of breast-plate on the crop of brownand russet feathers; the abdomen pure grey white,with small spots of brown at the base of the crop andon the flanks; primaries brownish, bordered with russetoutside. Tail quills brown, three-quarters of the mostexternal white, with the end brown outside; the twonext to the external have the distal half white. Beakand feet brownish; iris brown. It has been figured by Pallas, and by De Selys, inthe Faune Beige, (1842,) vol. i, pi. 4, fig. 1.
