i. Thedate is on a tablet hanging inthe festoon above the Virginshead, with an inscription to this effect: Miseratrix Virginum nostr.miserere. MDXV. The head ofS Joseph is damaged, and thefresco is split downwards so as tospoil that figure. Beneath theprincipal subject is a view of thebridge and people on it. The ori-ginal drawing for this fresco isin the Uffizi under the name of G.Bellini. 2 Bergamo, Lochis-Carrara. Can-vas with life-size half-lengths ofthe Virgin, child, S^ Joseph, Vin-cent, Anna, and Francis. On thehem of the Virgins bodice:Francisc. Moro; lower down inthe right hand corner: FranciscusMoronus Veros 1520 pinxit. Thispicture is much injured and black-ened by restoring. 3 Verona, San Fermo. Virginand child between S^ Elizabethand James, inscribed: MDXXIII.Franciscus Moronus p. The frescois all but gone. ^ Verona, San Zeno, cappellaEmilii, panels of S^ James and SJohn, life-size, the former wdth apatron, embrowned by time butof Morones best and fairly pre- North Italy.
