In the Library are preservedhis ledger and many other of his business books, from whichwe learn that on January 1, 1689, he reckoned his estate toamount to £50,000. The museumcontains a curious and lifelike coloured portrait-bust in wax in aflowing wig, said to be that worn by Turner. The bust isreputed to have been made from a cast taken after death.
