English: A giants kettle (a pothole) in Helsinki, Finland. This giants kettle is the bigger of the two located in the middle of Pihlajamäki residential area. The diameter of the hole is 6.9 metres (22.6 ft) and the depth is 8.45 metres (27.72 ft). The estimated age of the pothole is between 50,000 and 100,000 years. It is grinded before the last ice age, since it was found in geological formations under the ones created by the last ice age. It is estimated it took less than 100 years to grind this pothole in a current covered by 500–1,000 metres (1,600–3,300 ft) of ice. The age of the bedrock is approx. 1.9 billions (1,900,000,000) years.
Suomi: Hiidenkirnuja Helsingin Pihlajamäessä. Kuvassa näkyvä hiidenkirnu on suurempi keskellä Pihlajamäkeä sijaitsevasta kahdesta hiidenkirnusta. Sen halkaisija on 6,9 metriä, syvyys 8,45 metriä ja ikä arviolta 50 000–100 000 vuotta. Hiidenkirnu on syntynyt ennen viimeisintä jääkautta, sillä se on löydetty viimeisimmän jääkauden synnyttämien geologisten muodostumien alta.
