ARABIAN SEA (March 29, 2014) An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter transports cargo pallets from the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Robert E. Peary (T-AKE 5) to the multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) during a vertical replenishment. In the background, the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) conducts a replenishment-at-sea with the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Joshua Humphreys (T-AO 188). Bataan is the flagship for the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (22nd MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
