Title
A Post Medieval silver gilt dress hook with inset stones 2008T484. Illustration.
Description
English: Date: probably early 16th Century AD

Post-Medieval silver-gilt dress-hook.

A composite silver-gilt trifoliate dress-hook with central 'turquoise' cabochon, three cut garnets and one surviving pearl (from three that would have originally adorned the dress-hook). The dress-hook appears to have been reshaped prior to its loss.

As it was found before 1997 this falls under the Treasure Trove Act; where evidence would have to point to the object having been deliberately hidden with the intention of recovery. The dress-hook is most likely to be a casual loss, therefore does not constitute treasure.
