Funchal, ilha da Madeira.

A princesa "Zita de Bragança Bourbon-Parma "(Lucca, 9 maio 1892; 14 mar. 1989), filha do duque Roberto de Parma (1848-1907) e da princesa Maria Antónia de Portugal (1862-1959), logo, neta de D. Miguel de Portugal (1802-1866), casou, em 21 de outubro de 1911, com o arquiduque Carlos de Habsburgo "(Habsburgo-Lorena; 17 ago. 1887 – 1 abr. 1922), de cujo casamento houve larga descendência. Carlos de Habsburgo herdou, depois, o trono da Áustria, pelo assassinato do seu tio, arquiduque Francisco Fernando (1863-1914) e com o falecimento do avô Francisco José I (1830-1916), tornando-se em 1916 imperador da Áustria, rei da Hungria e da Boémia, mas acabando por ser afastado na sequência da primeira Grande Guerra. Exilado na Madeira, Carlos veio a falecer na Quinta do Monte, de pneumonia dupla, a 1 de abril de 1922, sendo depois beatificado pelo papa João Paulo II (1920-2005). A ex-imperatriz Zita haveria de regressar mais algumas vezes à Madeira e de sobreviver para além dos 90 anos, decorrendo também um processo beatificação a seu respeito.
