Труд написан на 48 страницах фолиантного формата и состоит из нескольких частей: введения, трех глав и заключения. Во введении разбирается понятие чисел в качестве вступления к освоению законов арифметики. Первая глава посвящена умножению целых чисел. Вторая глава — делению чисел и вычислению общих множителей. В третьей главе подробно рассматриваются дроби и арифметические действия с ними. Автор рукописи — египетский юрист и математик — был внуком Джамаля аль-Дина аль-Маридини и учеником Ибн аль-Маджди. Работа свидетельствует об аналитической утонченности египетских математиков XV века.

Le chapitre I traite de la multiplication des nombres entiers. Le chapitre II aborde la division des nombres entiers et le calcul des facteurs communs. Le chapitre III traite de manière exhaustive des fractions et des opérations arithmétiques sur celles-ci. L'auteur, un juriste et mathématicien égyptien, était le petit-fils de Jamāl al-Dīn al-Māridīnī et un élève d'Ibn al-Majdī. Cet ouvrage illustre la sophistication analytique des mathématiciens du 15è siècle en Égypte.
