DescriptionA Day in the Life of NIE (Network Integration Evaluation) 120914-A-WF334-001.jpg |
English: Mike Kelley, senior program analyst for DRS Tactical Systems, Inc.,
left, demonstrates features of his organization's Mission Command on the Move system to Brig. Gen. Randal Dragon, right, commanding general of the Brigade Modernization Command. According to Kelley, the MCOTM is a system of systems that leverages the power of digital communications to enhance the planning, monitoring and control of military operations. The system will be one of 22 new systems under evaluation during the upcoming tactical phase of the Network Integration Evaluation to be held at Fort Bliss and White Sands Missile Range in October and November. This pictured MCOTM suite, installed in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle in the Integration Motor Pool, is a tactical, automated, digital battle command information system meant to operate in tactical vehicles and Tactical Operation Centers to provide messaging, vehicle tracking capabilities, and total logistics asset visibility. The system allows commanders to determine vehicle location and operational status, and provides near real-time horizontal and vertical communications at all echelon levels.
