Description

(Processed) Apollo 14 Hasselblad image from film magazine 75/R - Lunar orbit Part of this photo was used in Figure 29-129 of the Apollo 17 Preliminary Science Report (SP-330, 1973), which has the following caption:

Portion of AS14-75-10302 that shows the sinuous markings of northern Mare Marginis. Note that the swirls southeast of Al-Biruni (near the middle of the photograph) trend in an east-west direction. The brightness in the lower left portion of the north rim of Goddard Crater is caused by ejecta and rays of a small bright-rayed crater.
