In de 'Atlas Maior' nam Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) verschillende gedetailleerde kaarten van Afrikaanse regios op. Het is echter onbekend aan welke geografische bron Blaeu die informatie ontleende.

Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) included various detailed maps of African regions in the 'Atlas Maior'. However it is not known from which geographical sources Blaeu derived the information.
