2016-09-25: Today, the U.S. Department of State will host the 2016 U.S.–Sub-Saharan Africa Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum—or as we call it, the AGOA Forum. Government officials, business leaders, entrepreneurs—including youth and women!—and civil society from African countries and the United States will convene to promote trade, business, and investment opportunities that sustain economic development in Africa. The U.S. Congress overwhelmingly approved legislation re-authorizing AGOA until 2025 through the AGOA Extension and Enhancement Act. What does that mean for Ghana? It's a strong signal that the U.S. remains committed to expanding Africa-U.S. trade and facilitating trade within the continent.
