Description
English: The European honey bee or western honey bee (Apis mellifera) is a species of honey bee. The specimen in the picture is a fully grown female worker of the subspecies Apis mellifera carnica on an Echinacea purpurea flower. Another detail in the picture is the bee's about 6.5 mm long tongue.
