English: Portland Canal upriver from McAlpine Locks:

Detail of old cranes from tainter gates. The cranes were mounted on rails running along the top of the gate structure and were used to install maintenance bulkheads. They have been replaced with newer cranes. P&H stands for Pawling and Harnischfeger, the manufacturer's founders. . Ohio River mile 606. Louisville, Kentucky. July 18, 2002. file # A2G013. .
