Towboat "Valvoline" upbound out of Portland Canal. Dead foliage on shrubs growing from cracks in concrete embankment. . Twin screw towboat "Valvoline" (doc. # 916834, length 150 feet, breadth 45 feet, Cat 3606 diesels, 4200 hp.). Built in 1987 by Quality Shipyards, Houma, Louisiana. Originally named "Valvoline" and owned by Ashland, Inc., Ashland, Kentucky. Transferred in 1998 to Marathon Ashland Petroleum, Ashland, Kentucky. Firm name changed in 2005 to Marathon Petroleum Co., Ashland, Kentucky. Renamed "Nashville" in 2011. Still operating in 2017. . Ohio River mile 605. Louisville, Kentucky. Jan. 13, 2001. file # a1a022. .
