Summary[edit]

Description

Another from the Clonbrock collection today with a group of men outside a "grand" building with a pair of ornate and formidable doors behind them.

As usual, [/photos/129555378@N07/ sharon.corbet] was very quick to identify the location - as the door to the museum building in Trinity College, Dublin.

We do not have definitive confirmation of date or identity of the people pictured. However there are some fairly solid theories from [/photos/gnmcauley/ Niall McAuley], [/photos/129555378@N07/ sharon.corbet] and [/photos/8468254@N02/ derangedlemur]. These suggest that, based on other pictures in the Clonbrock (Dillon family) collection, one of the extended Dillon family may have been at Trinity in the mid 1890s, and that those pictured here may be staff - rather than the students evident in other photos in the series.

Thanks again to all for the intrepid sleuthing.
