| Description |
This is the initial approach to the memorial. The entire World Trade Center complex remains a busy construction zone, and the memorial is smack in the middle of it, surrounded by a number of buildings under construction. It is necessary to walk quite a bit of distance from the public entrance to the actual memorial. Along the way, timed entry tickets are collected, and a security check done. The full memorial, complete with a museum, will not be ready until 2012, but for the tenth anniversary on 11 September 2011, the waterfalls were unveiled, covering the footprint of the Twin Towers and surrounded by the names of those killed. |
