Notes: אלישיב ויס נולד בראשון לציון. למד בתלמוד תורה ובגיל צעיר החל לעבוד ביקב, בעקבות אביו שלום שכנא ויס. בצעירותו, ספורטאי מצטיין: השיג מקום שני באליפות הארץ בקפיצת מוט ובקפיצה למרחק; היה שוער קבוצת הכדורגל של "המכבי" במושבה. בשלהי שנות העשרים, נמנה עם הנהגים הספורים שקיימו את הקשר התחבורתי בין ראשון לציון ותל אביב-יפו. יחד עם חבריו אבינועם קלס, יהודה ציגלרויט ואבישי דודזון הקים את הקולקטיב "יהודה".
