Title
848 Medieval horse harness pendant.jpg
Description
English: Cast copper alloy heraldic horse harness pendant, length 41mm, width 24mm, thickness 6mm, weight 6.65g. Shield shaped pendant with a heraldic bird of pray, possibly an eagle, in a displayed pose, the head facing towards that left, this encompasses the whole of the surface. The detail is recessed and would have held enamel, all of which is missing. At the top of the shield is an oval suspension loop. The reverse is plain.

The overall condition is very poor, corrosion has stripped the whole of the original surface and has left a mid brown heavily pitted surface, with a green powdery look in the recesses.

These artefacts are dated to the 14th century.
