Sterling Wright, left, of Summerville, S.C., a heavy equipment operator for the 615th Engineer Company, 4th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, out of Fort Carson, Colo., receives a coin of commemoration from Col. Heath Roscoe, commander of the 36th Eng. Bde., out of Fort Hood, Texas, for his performance in support of Operation United Assistance Jan. 8, 2015, at the Defense Distribution Expeditionary Yard, Buchanan, Liberia. Wright and his team are in the process of improving the DDEY so that military vehicles and shipping containers can be safely staged there before they’re shipped back to the U.S. Operation United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
