Summary[edit]

Description
English: Soldiers, leaders and Family members of the U.S. Army Aviation Task Force welcomed the 6th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment back from its nine-month rotation to Camp Humphreys, South Korea, Feb. 9, 2015. Col. Nick Snelson, UATF commander, welcomed the Soldiers that morning as they exited the plane at Eielson Air Force Base. Family members, friends and local community members later greeted them at Fort Wainwright's Hangar 5 following a brief ceremony honoring the more than 360 returning Soldiers. The 6-17th CAV provided crews and support for 30 OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopters at Camp Humphreys in Pyongtaek, South Korea. Rotational deployments are routinely scheduled to support the U.S. security commitment to South Korea, as specified by our mutual defense treaty and presidential agreements, supporting our partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
