Summary[edit]

Description
English: Comparison of densities for hydrogen (negative, in purple) vs deuterium (positive, in gray) in neutron crystallography. This unusually clear example is Arg 17 in the protein crambin (PDB file 4fc1) at 1.1Å resolution, where the NH's on the Arg guanidinium can exchange for D with the D2O solution, while the aliphatic CH's remain stable.
