Fruit. — Gros ou moyen, pyriforme, ventru, atténué vers le pédoncule, en forme de gour- de,- peau lisse, d'un joli vert-clair, ponctuée de points gris et tachée de rouille, plus vers le pédoncule et le calice. Pédoncule. — Fort, ligneux, arqué, assez long, renflé aux deux extrémités, vert forte- ment ombré de brun ; placé en tête du fruit et le terminant assez exactement ; quelques portions charnues empiètent sur sa base. Calice. — Petit, à divisions fortes, irrégu- lières, brun-foncé; placé dans un très-léger abaissement peu évasé. Chair. — Blanchâtre, fine, beurrée et fon- dante : eau très-abondante, parfaitement su- crée et parfumée ; maturité septembre et oc- tobre . Arbre. — Assez vigoureux, fertile; bois brun-rougeâtre dans les jeunes jets; feuilles moyennes, finement dentées, vert foncé. Culture. — Sur cognassier pour cordons et fuseaux, même pour pyramide; mieux ce- endant sur franc pour les grandes formes. es fruits du St-Michel-Arehange sont quel- quefois tachés et pierreux, quand le terrain ne lui convient pas; il réussit très-bien en espalier. En tous cas il lui faut un terrain léger, surtout lorsqu'il est greffé sur franc. Origine. — Inconnue ; fruit déjà ancien. î
