English: 400 kV electricity sub-station and canal narrow boats The site of a former power station in St John's Wood housed a 275 kV sub-station. In 2005 a new 400 kV sub-station was built inside, with a 6 metre deep basement and a 20 km long 3 metre diameter tunnel to Elstree for the 400 kV cables which are insulated by XPLE - cross-linked polyethylene.
