Description

Yesterday I passed out after work but was awaken by many loud KA-BOOMs!

First two was an electrical transformer that blew up twice 100m away and the other Ka-boom was a severe lightning/ thunder storm that passed by overnight. This storm resulted in two different house fires.

"Crews are battling two house fires in and around Caledon apparently sparked by lightning strikes.

One blaze started around 5 a.m. Tuesday at 6355 Healy Rd., near Airport Road and Highway 9. Everyone appears to have gotten out of the house safely. However one firefighter has reportedly been hurt. There's no word yet on the extent of his injuries.

A second fire started at a home on Keylime Court in Palgrave, near Highways 9 and 50.

A major thunderstorm moved across Southern Ontario overnight creating a spectacular lightning show.

There were severe weather watches in effect across the GTA.

And another early morning lightning strike is apparently responsible for damaging three hydro poles on Midland Avenue. Police have closed the southbound lanes of Midland at McNicoll."
