Description
  • Italiano: Chiesa di San Tomaso a Milano: Cappella dell'Immacolata. Lapide che ricopia le iscrizioni latine della demolita basilica di San Nazaro di Pietrasanta, da cui proviene la statua dell'Immacolata, in ricordo dell'incoronazione nel 1578 della statua con una corona d'argento, da parte di San Carlo Borromeo, come ex voto per avere scacciato la peste.   • English: Milan, Italy: San Tomaso church. "Chapel of the Immaculate". A plaque copying the inscriptions formerly in the demolished church of San Nazaro di Pietrasanta (where the statue of the Immaculate originally stood). The inscriptions explain that the statue was crowned with a silver crown by Charles Borromeo in 1578 as an ex voto for the end of the 1577 plague. Picture by Giovanni Dall'Orto, June 22 2007.
