345th Military Intelligence Battalion Coat of Arms Description/Blazon Shield Per fess Azure (Oriental Blue) and Sable, a knight on a horse and on his sinister arm a shield charged with a rose and in his dexter hand a lance palewise piercing a dragon in base all Argent (Silver Gray), detailed of the second. Crest That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve: From a wreath Argent and Azure, the Lexington Minute Man Proper. The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts. Motto DRAGON SLAYERS. Symbolism Shield Oriental blue and silver gray are the colors traditionally used by Military Intelligence; blue and black represent night and day vigilance and the unit's covert and overt missions. The knight slaying the dragon highlights the motto and embodies combat readiness, strategy and determination. The rose on the knight's shield is adapted from the branch insignia of Military Intelligence and suggests "sub-rosa" activities. Crest The crest is that of the United States Army Reserve.
