English: A B-26 Marauder (VT-G, serial number 41-34705) of the 453rd Bomb Squadron, 323rd Bomb Group takes off from Earls Colne, 18 August 1943.
Passed as censored 18 Aug 1943. Handwritten caption on reverse: 'Main runway looking SE.' Printed caption on reverse: 'The Marauder ... 300 MPH Medium Bomber. The Martin B-26 Marauder two-motor medium bombers are being used by the U.S. Eighth Air Force in daylight attacks on Europe. Powered by two 2,000 h.p. radial engines, the Marauder has a top speed well in excess of 300 m.p.h., and bomb-load of 2,500 lbs. Machine guns are fitted in the nose and tail, and a power-operated turret in the top of the fuselage.
