中文（臺灣）：此張照片為日治時期玉里街頭演習之照片，位在今玉里鎮中山路上，可以看見許多士兵正趴在地上演習。一旁可見「新高登山東口玉里」和「八通關越道路起點」的柱子，與應為標記玉里社參拜起點的兩座石燈籠，當時玉里連同玉里神社的神道崇拜、八通關古道起點與新高山登山口三者合而為一，使其成為人文氣息豐富的景點。然而，在戰後玉里神社與八通關古道起點、新高山登山口之柱子皆被毀壞，其中，玉里神社在地方人士後來的整理下，逐漸修繕保存。 |
