Summary[edit]
Description2nd Town Workhouse Christchurch Dorset.JPG |
English: The second town workhouse in Christchurch, Dorset. Built in 1881 to replace the original workhouse in Quay Road. In 1948, after the introduction of the Welfare State, the workhouse became the town hospital which is still open although a large part was given over to housing in 1995. This block and the block beyond are now flats. |
