Description
English: Chamkaur Sahib is the site where two elder sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh along with a small group Khalsa soldiers fought the Mughal army led by Wazir Khan under orders of Aurangzeb. They held back the large battalion, allowing Guru Gobind Singh to reach safer haven and continue his resistance for religious freedoms. All 40 Khalsa Sikhs, including the two sons lost their lives. Their martyrdom is revered by a major and important Gurdwara. Punjab India
