| Description |
English: South Vietnam. May 1971. Private (Pte) Tom Floyd of Lindisfarne, Tas, checks the sights on his M60 machine gun before going out on patrol. Together with other members of C Company, 2RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), Pte Floyd was taking part in his final operation in the war zone. The battalion will return to Australia later this month completing a twelve month tour of duty. Note the ammunition belt over his shoulder and on the ground. |
