Summary[edit]

Description Following ending of the franchise of private operator Nord-Ostsee Bahn at the end of 2016, DB Regio formed a subsidiary company DB Regio Schleswig-Holstein to take over. Becaue of numerous faults and unreliability, NOB's push-pull sets used on this route were not acquired. Instead, Regional Expresses have been formed of 'scratch sets' of old DB stock and locos hired in. Seen here at Elmshorn on 29 March 2017, ER20-011 (223.011) is hauling train RE11024, 16:40 Hamburg-Altona to Westerland (Sylt). The loco seen here has been hired in fromVossloh Locomotives GmbH (formerly Lokomotion).
