Description
English: Cross-sectional view of cartridge case for 240 mm (9.45 inch) Trench Mortar as adopted by the US Army, 1918.

Cartridge case : Brass, 9.776 inches long x 6.67 inches diameter, flanged at base.

Percussion cap : contains percussion composition "H42" mixture : 21.97% flowers of sulphur; 30.83% sulphide of antimony; 47.20% chlorate of potash.
