Description

208-PU-171C-12: Inaugural Medal Presented to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Washington.D.C. Inaugural medal commenting the Fourth Inauguration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt will soon be issued under the sponsorship of a committee headed by former ambassador Joseph E. Davies, who was chairman of the 1941 Inaugural Committee. The medal is of rich bit bronze bearing the likeness of FDR on one side and USS Constitution in full sail on the reverse side. Sculptor Jo Davidson, right, shows the medal to the President as Joseph E. Davis, (left), and Mr. Alphonse Lander (rear, center), look on, January 1945.
